Israeli occupation forces for the third time have dismantled the symbolic village of "Jerusalem gate" on Thursday afternoon, hours after it was rebuilt in the morning.
Israeli forces at 4 AM evacuated the area, damaged the tents that were set up, detained activists ID's and using pick up and bulldozers confiscated chairs and supplement food, and the village was built again.
The project was set to protest the new settlement project "E 1" which confiscates thousands of Dunums from East Jerusalem for settlement expansion.
The village was established on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces attacked popular struggle activists in the symbolic struggle village called "Jerusalem Gate" which was set up in Abu Dis west occupied Jerusalem.
Munther Amira, chair of the higher coordination committee against the wall and settlements said that dozens of activists in popular struggle committee have constructed 3 tents in a symbolic village "East Jerusalem Gate" on lands threatened by occupation seizure, which are inhibited by All-Jahhalin bedouin clan.
Amira added that Israeli soldiers Wednesday dawn attacked the "Jerusalem gate" and dismantled the demonstration tent and confiscated the activists belongings.
However, Amira assured that the popular struggle committee will carry on the popular activities and increase resistance against Israeli occupation apartheid policies.
Popular struggle activist, Mahmoud Zawahra said that Israeli forces were chasing the participants, in addition to the residents of Abu Dis, Ezariyah and East Jerusalem desert villages, and attacked them with teargas and sound grenades, and besieged them .
Jamil Barghouthi, activist and coordinator of the village said that "Jerusalem Gate" was a reaction and rejection of Israeli decision of displacing Bedouins in East Jerusalem into Al-Eizariyya and Nuway'imah near the Jordan valleys, and evicting them for settlement expansion and land theft.
Al-Barghouthi called on the popular forces and relative associations participate in the upcoming activities to make 2015 the year of ending Israeli occupation, voicing the role of popular struggle in facing settlements and Israeli violations.
