Illegally detained Hurriyet leader, Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, has completed 22 years of incarceration today (February 5).

His spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, appealed to the people to join the online ‘Release Dr Qasim’ campaign. “Dr Qasim along with his wife Aasiya Andrabi and son was apprehended by the Indian forces at Srinagar Airport on this day in 1993. The prosecution has failed to prove the case against them,” the spokesman added.

He said Dr Qasim has not been released despite spending over two decades behind the bars.
