Musings of a Modi fan: Why Delhi should vote for Kejriwal

New Delhi

I have not been a big fan of AAP; but, despite all my liking and preference for leader Modi, I have started thinking of AAP as a better choice than BJP for Delhi.

Reasons are a mix of following points.

1. MODI and KEJRIWAL are probably the only 2 leaders who have enjoyed the highest level of love and support from the masses in recent history of 10-15 years. One has got the chance to prove himself and the other also should be given full responsibility to prove and do meaningful work.

2. Corporates invest in building leaders of future by giving them right opportunities. Political parties will only think about this at the party level. Public needs to invest in leaders with spark so that someone is ready  for future PM positions. Kejriwal is an IITian with good bureaucratic experience. It is in long term interest of India if it builds right people with experience for future. If Gujarat had not invested in Modi, we wouldn't have had a PM candidate,  ready to deliver as PM. Public only needs to invest in current leaders for future keeping themselves above party politics. Parties will not do it.

3. Kejriwal is more metric driven than BJP. He is likely to deliver more for Delhi as he is more focussed on tangible deliverables.

4. BJP is in centre already so they anyways can do good for Delhi if they really want to.

5. BJP is a better party in current environment but for democracy to survive, it is always good to have few more parties going strong. MODI is 24 carrot gold but all his ministers are surely not and as the days pass, they are becoming unapproachable and complacent also. Kejriwal will give competition to them on good governance and the complacency which is brewing up will go away hopefully.

I love Modiji but it is not about who is better.

It is about what is right for democracy and what is right for country in long term.

Arvind Kejriwal for Delhi.
