Terming the media reports regarding U.S President Barack Obama’s recent visit to New Delhi during which he stressed upon India to resume the stalled dialogue with Pakistan as encouraging, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman has expressed hope that like U.S, other members of the world community would also come forward and use their influence to push for a dialogue between India and Pakistan to de-escalate the tension in the region by amicably resolving Kashmir dispute.
In a statement to KNS he said, “Hurriyat has always advocated for dialogue between India and Pakistan to solve issues between them. The lasting peace and stability would only come in South Asia once the Kashmir issue is resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.”
“In view of the changing political scenario around the globe Hurriyat has always said that dialogue is the only way to move forward and solve the contentious problems. The meaningful dialogue between India, Pakistan and pro-freedom leadership was the only way to hammer out solution of the Kashmir dispute,” he said.
The spokesman added that third party association to solve the Kashmir problem was inevitable as the UN and international community should play their role in this regard since this issue is lying with the UN from past more than 68 years.
