Organisation of "the Democrats" swept Karachi Press Club elections for year 2015 by winning all seats.

According to official results announced by Chief Election Commissioner Prof Dr Taseef Ahmed Khan, Fazil Jamili was elected the president by bagging 458 votes.

The loosing cadidate of Progressive panel, Anwer Sen Roy, polled 324 votes. Alauddin Khanzada was elected secretary. He got 541 votes. Ayub Jan Sarhandi, his rival, could get 291 votes only; Nawab Qureshi won the vice president seat by getting 507 votes while the contender from progressive panel Meraj Fatima polled 316 votes.

Muhammad Hanif  Akber became treasurer by getting 459 votes. Aaijz Jamali the contender from progressive panel got 354 votes. M.Rizwan Bhatti who grabbed the seat of Joint Secretary won the trust of 538 voters. Fasahat Moin of the competing panel could get 278 votes only; according to final results, the Democrats' candidates Hina Mah Gul ( 557), Tariq Abul Hasan (519), Sajjad Abasi (462) , Kafiluddin Faizan (462),Syed Agha Karam Ali Shah(456) ,M Siddiq Chaudhry ( 453) and Manzoor Chandio (436) were elected members of the governing body for the year 2015. It may be relevant to mention that 850 out of 1131 registered voters exercized their right to vote. 

In the meantime, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ- Dastoor) Idrees Bakhtiar, General Secretary PFUJ Khursheed Abasi, President KUJ Dastoor Afsar Imran, Gen Sec Shoaib Ahmed, senior journalists Humayyun Aziz, Khursheed Tanweer, Maqsood Yousufi, Athar Hashmi,Naseer Hashmi, Suhail Afzal, Siraj Ahmed, Akram Khan, Imtiaz Khan Faran, Aamir Latif, Naeem Tahir, Ehtesham Saaed Pasha, Nasrullah Chaudhry, Saeed Sarbazi and other leaders of the democrats have felicitated the newly elected body and thanked KPC members for putting trust in The Democrats.
