The Expo 2014 Unity World Cup Footall will be held in December at Nehru stadium, Fatorda in South Goa. Briefing mediapersons about the event here today, John Paul II Foundation for Sports (Goa) director Kennedy D'Silva and Goa Football Association (GFA) president Elvis Gomes said the Expo Unity World Cup will commence from first week of December and first stage of the tournament matches will be played at Hyderabad and Bangalore.

While, semi-finals and final will be played in Goa in the mid of December. Total eight teams are expected to participate in the
World Cup. which includes Brazil, Nigeria, Ghana, Portugal, Eygpt and Africa. In Goa, matches will be played at Nehru
stadium, Fatorda in South Goa, they said.
 

Meanwhile, the three-day second All India Christian Football Championship for the AGAPE Cup, organized by John
Paul II Foundation for Sports (Goa) to select probables to represent India will be played at GFA stadium Duler, Mapusa
from tomorrow.

Total 11 teams, including reigning champion Tamil Nadu and runners-up Kerala, will be vying for top honour along
with teams from Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and
Goa, which will be played on a league-cum- knock out basis. The three-day event assumes significance as the probables
for India team for Expo Unity World Cup will scout the best players to represent India under watchful eyes of selectors
Cariton Chapman, former Indian captain, along with AIFF coach Savio Madeira and Marcus Pacheco.
