Medhaj News: Raging monsoon floods across India and Pakistan that have killed more than 450 people have poured into the hills and plains of Jammu & Kashmir, sending major rivers over its banks and threatening to force hundreds of thousands from their homes.
The nation stands shocked at nature’s rage. The state witnessed worst flood in past six decades with hundreds dead, thousands lost and lakhs still stranded, ragged and bare, the homeless of monsoon.
The nation is praying and the fearless Indian Army and Air Force are doing every bit possible to save the flood-hit victims of the state, with 24-hour rescue operations.
And in this act of kindness our reel life heroes are no behind. Actor Varun Dhavan stepped forward and kicked off a campaign to raise funds and help buy kits for flood victims. A website called ketto.org is the one through which Varun initiated the campaign. The website has so far collected around a lakh rupees for the victims.
Also the 36-year-old Rang De Basanti star Kunal Kapoor has joined hands with an NGO called Care India which is also raising funds to help buy survival kits for flood-hit victims.
The kits would include basic amenities for survival such as tarpaulin, mats, hygiene Kit (Soap ,toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary napkins & disinfectants soaps) and blankets.
"In association with an NGO, I have started a fundraiser to help raise money for the terrible situation in Kashmir!! The situation is far worse than you can imagine. And people are in need of immediate help. You can help them," tweeted Kapoor urging people to make contribution.
"Every contribution, no matter how small, matters. You can contribute by cash, cheque or card. Help Now," he further added.
Kapoor also tweeted about Ketto.org.

Also the Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan is campaigning to support the cause. In an open letter Hrithik made an appeal by saying ‘Each Survival Kit costs INR 5000 and I am looking to fundraise for 200 such kits.I have already gone ahead and funded for the first 20kits. Please support this campaign. Let’s come together for our fellow-countrymen’
After the Bollywood has geared up for the cause the Aam Aadmi Party politicians have also decided to join the race.
All AAP MLAs to donate Rs 20 lakh each for Kashmir flood relief from their MLA funds, tweeted Arvind Kejriwal.
Medhaj News also urges and requests every citizen to pray and contribute whatever possible to help the stranded people who are devastated by nature’s fury.
