An MOU agreement was executed and entered today on 07.01.2019 in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Norway Ms. Erna Solberg, along with dignitaries, at the India-Norway business summit organized by Innovation Norway, Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi. Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India also addressed the plenary session of the summit.
The MOU is meant to facilitate discussions regarding general areas of cooperation among academia-industry-government-social entrepreneur to initiate an Indo-Norwegian collaboration (INORC) in the field of energy in Uttar Pradesh
The MOU was signed between ACL Engineering (ACL Share Energy) AS, Stavanger, Norway and Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU), Lucknow Uttar Pradesh, India, University of Agder (UIA), Kristiansand, Norway and Medhaj Techno Concept (MTCPL) Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The MOU signatories present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Pravir, Kumar, IAS, Vice Chancellor, DSMNRU, Prof. Mohan Kolhe (UIA) and Dr. Abhilasha Wal (ACL), Program Manager, INORC. Mr. Bjorn Thore Leidland, CEO, ACL Share Energy and Mr. Gunjan Tripathi, Director, Medhaj Techno Concept Private Limited are the two other MOU signatories.
The consortium will plan and execute their pilot project using all available resources in the field of rural electrification ‘From Darkness to Light’ in Uttar Pradesh.
This is an industry-based research project and it will witness the execution of ACL’s OMEGA Nova: a human resource development program, where young engineers from India & Norway will work together with mature domain experts in the field of specialization. Preparation for a potential collaboration with TERI, energy consortium in Uttar Pradesh and Norwegian industrial partners is also ongoing.
This MOU is being seen as path breaking in strengthening Indo-Norwegian ties while providing a boost in the energy sector in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The visit of the Norwegian Prime Minister Ms. Erna Solberg to India and has proved to be catalytic in the process.
