Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) has launched a new scheme for their domestic consumers so that they could get the new electricity connections easily. Now the residents won’t need to go to Nigam office to get a new electricity connection. Discom has launched a new scheme to bring the registration for electricity connections, to their doorstep.
“The scheme is to provide the customers a new facility, especially the people of rural areas like Jaipur, Bharatpur, Dausa, Karauli, Dholpur, Alwar, Tonk, Kota and others where they do not understand the complex procedures” said by A.K Gupta, Chairman of Jaipur Discom. This is just for domestic purpose and not for commercial purpose, and all the new and pending applications for electricity connections will from now on, be dealt under this. Under this scheme, a new feature will be added to “Bijli Mitra App” named as “Door Step” where consumer will be registered after filling the details. For this feature, IT and Customer Care Centre (CCC) are working together. So when a customer registers he will receive an OTP, have to fill the form, an alert will be sent to the Customer Care Centre. They will further send it to the concerned official in that area who will get in touch with the customer and will go to his house on the time suitable to the customer. There, the documents will be collected, scanned and after the completion of all the requirements, the connection will be allotted. The people taking advantage of this scheme will be given special preference in the electricity connection.
If this scheme becomes success, the service may be planned for commercial electricity connections also as per the one of the officials of Jaipur Discom. We have plans to launch it for commercial as well, but it will be different from domestic. To get a new domestic connection is completely free of charge. However, for commercial ones, we have to get in touch with the payment gateway for the commercial transaction to get the required fee.
