he world has seen several big Hollywood movies this year. But only a few of them saw success, the rest were either strictly decent or failures. As April begins, there is hope from Avengers: Infinity War, which may be the biggest superhero film in Marvel Cinematic Universe, perhaps the biggest superhero film ever. Other than that, this month has only a couple of big releases, Dwayne Johnson's Rampage and John Krasinski's Emily Blunt starrer A Quiet Place. Of course, all the other movies, including Bollywood and regional cinema, may end up being washed away in the wave that would be Infinity War. Here are the five Hollywood movies you should watch this month.
Peter Rabbit:Based on a popular character of the same name created by English author Beatrix Potter in her children's stories, the film has a stellar voice cast with names like Rose Byrne, Domnhall Gleeson, Sam Neil, Margot Robbie, Daisey Ridley and more. Here is what the official synopsis says, "Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud with Mr McGregor escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door." It will release on April 6.
A Quiet Place:Touted as one of the best horror movies of the year so far, this film is based on a fresh and interesting concept. There is a family whose members have to live their lives in silence if they have to stay away from creatures who hunt by sound. Here is what the official synopsis says, "A family is forced to live at a secluded and abandoned farm in complete silence and communicate only in sign language for survival after a mysterious supernatural force attracted to sound begins to attack the whole world."
Blockers:A comedy starring John Cena and has received good reviews? Sounds too good to be true? Well, it is true. The story itself is strange. A trio of parents (yes, you read that right) try to stop their daughters from losing their virginity during prom night. The synopsis reads, "When three parents stumble upon their daughters' pact to lose their virginity at prom, they launch a covert one-night operation to stop the teens from sealing the deal."
Rampage:Video-game movies almost never work, but that does not stop big studios to pour millions of dollars into their production. In the film, Dwayne Johnson will be seen squaring up against three normal sized animals that have mutated into monsters as big as a building. These three animals are an albino gorilla, a wolf and a crocodile. They are ravaging the country and it is up to the ‘badass’ Dwayne Johnson to protect the people. The film seems to have a light tone, and quite a bit of humour as well. It will release on April 13.
Avengers: Infinity War:Does this film really need an introduction? A superhero movie with 76 reported characters, containing nearly all the characters that have yet appeared in MCU movies to date, a metahuman extravaganza 10 years in making (as Marvel reminds us every now and then), this film does seem to be an undertaking of epic proportions. The Marvel superheroes face Thanos and his Black Order, who have come to claim Infinity Stones for Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet. It will release on April 27.
